I may speak the word with power,
understanding all mysteries.
I may have faith to move a mountain;
sacrifice my everything.
But I am just as sounding brass
if I have not charity.
I am just a tinkling cymbal
if God's love can't flow through me.
For charity is kind and endures all things;
never seeks her own, but hopes and believes.
Charity rejoices in the truth, and never fails.
When all else has ceased to be, then abides charity.
May I live a life of meekness,
showing mercy in every deed,
and may my faith be moved to action,
reaching out to those in need.
And may I have abounding grace
toward every soul I meet.
I am nothing without Jesus,
and his gift of charity.
For charity is kind and endures all things;
never seeks her own, but hopes and believes.
Charity rejoices in the truth and never fails.
When all else has ceased to be, then abides charity.
I am nothing without charity.
